Next week: Family Literacy Night Oct. 17
Our Learning:
We were having so much fun doing short skits to demonstrate "Space Invader" personal bubble "Expected" and "not expected" & sketching in our Visual Journals that we ran out of time for blog! I tried to squeeze in a bit of reading for our book "Wonder" but we will finish the chapter tomorrow. We just found out that Auggie has decided to meet the principal Mr. Tushman at his potential new school. He's pretty nervous because he looks so different, he fears that kids will stare and be rude.
We did our Magnet Science test today, some of us will finish up tomorrow. So far, I am seeing some pretty smart kiddos! Im very impressed with the outstanding work.
For Discussion:
What Superflex character do you hope we learn about next?
or
What was the coolest thing you learned about magnets during our investigations?

Dear Parents,
Our class read "You are a Social Detective! Explaining Social Thinking to Kids" by Michelle Garcia Winner and Pamela Crooke.
The Social Detective series features "Superflex" who with a team of friends, teaches us about how to be 'flexible' and "expected"and overcome a team of 'unthinkable' who do things that are "unexpected".
Our first character was Rock Brain!
'
We watched a video from Sesame Street about the word "stubborn"- and discussed how Rock Brain is very stubborn. We then made our very own Rock Brain using play dough.
Our Learning:
"I learned about Rock Brain!"-Kolby, "he goes into people's brains to make them stubborn."
